Navid Mafi
I'm a software engineer and a researcher. I first used a computer at 5 and wrote my first program at 10. I've been designing, building, and analyzing software systems for over 7 years now.
I'm interested (and thus distracted) by an infinite set of topics. In my spare time I usually write music, learn languages, read books, and play games. I currently live in Tehran.
Research interests:
- Hybrid vision-language models for discriminative tasks
- Texture reconstruction and guided super-resolution
- Multi-lingual low-latency ASR & Neural synthesis
- Masked LDMs for 2D/3D content synthesis
Engineering experience:
- Live Platforms (Broadcasting, Geo-distribution, Delivery)
- Architecture & Design (Fault-tolerance, High-throughput systems, Multi-threading)
- Networking & Infrastructure (virtualization, access, provisioning, reliability)
- Monitoring & Observation (alerting, autoscaling, fault-prediction, threat intel)
- Secure computing (Chain of trust, HW/SW platform security, sandboxing)
- Reverse engineering (drivers, libs, network interception, binary analysis)
Topics I read about:
- Cognitive science and psychology
- Socioeconomics and demographics
- Game theory and international relations
- Telecommunications and RF
- Biochemistry and health
