Navid Mafi
I'm a Software Engineer and Researcher.
I first used a computer at 5 and wrote my first program at 10. I've been developing software professionally for over six years now.
In my spare time I do electronics (MCUs, Long range radio), produce music (Dorico), and I really like biking. I also do a bit of photography sometimes.
If you have something interesting to discuss, email me: [email protected]
Some things about me:
- I Live in Iran
- On the internet since 2012
- Attended Alborz High School
- Nearly dismissed myself from Alborz for coordinating a DDOS attack and leaking credentials (I was 12 and stupid)
- Entered university at 15
- Built video platforms and media software in 2021 that scaled actually good (400 concurrent connections in a single room)
- Currently maintaining infra that's handling 2TB of traffic/mo
- I like classical and orchestral music (countless harmonical and melodical variations and ideas that still follow clear and clever structures). My dad also likes 80's Western (e.g. Richard Clayderman, Yanni) and Persian music.
Random activies of interest to me:
- Opening up and "fixing" various devices (Mobile Phones, Speakers, Laptops, Adapters, Live PSUs)
- Obtaining RCE on a TV or an ADSL router
- Rooting and building custom ROMs
- Building high voltage inverters and having fun with 400VDC, painstakingly charged up from a battery pack (loud sparks 😍)
- Disassembling software and games and intercepting encrypted traffic
- Writing DLLs and bypassing anticheats
- Using freearc+precomp to repack software for my friends
Some things I believe:
-
Superficiality is where most fail
- Question things. Don't let your System 1 take control of your life.
- If others can't tolerate your (relevant) questioning, you are not the problem. They are.
-
The world runs on great technology and research
- As much as we benefit from new prespectives and ideas, knowledge is still most valuable
- Be careful with what knowledge you share and who you share it with
- Interpretations of knowledge can differ however, thus crearting unique actions and life experiences
- And plenty more I'll likely add over time
